What to Include in Your Email
To help us process your request efficiently, please include:
- Type of Request: Access, Delete, Correct, or Opt-Out
- Your Email Address: So we can verify your identity and respond
- Approximate Dates: When you last visited our website (helps us locate your data)
- Description: Briefly describe what information you want accessed/deleted/corrected
- Location: Your state/country (helps us apply the correct privacy law)

Identity Verification
To protect your privacy, we must verify your identity before fulfilling requests. We may ask you to:
- Confirm your email address by responding to a verification email
- Provide details about your recent activity on the website (pages visited, calculators used)
- Answer security questions (if applicable)
We will not use information you provide for verification for any other purpose.
Authorized Agents
You may authorize someone to submit a privacy request on your behalf (e.g., attorney, family member).
Requirements:
- Provide written proof of authorization (signed letter or power of attorney)
- We may still contact you directly to verify the request
What Data We Have (Transparency)
To help you understand what to request, here's what data we typically collect:
- Analytics Data (if you consented): Anonymized IP address, browser type, pages visited, time spent, referring URL
- LocalStorage (on your device): Cookie consent preferences, calculator settings (you can clear this yourself via browser settings)
- Server Logs (Netlify): IP address, request URL, timestamp (retained 30 days for technical operations)
We do NOT collect:
- Your name, address, phone number, or email (unless you contact us directly)
- Your calculator inputs (work hours, hourly rates, dates - these stay on your device)
- Payment information (we don't sell anything)
- Social Security numbers or other sensitive identifiers
Response Timeline
We will acknowledge your request within 10 business days and respond with a decision within:
- GDPR (EU/UK): 30 days (may extend to 60 days for complex requests)
- CCPA (California): 45 days (may extend to 90 days for complex requests)
If we need more time, we will notify you of the extension and the reason.
